Olin Brass History

n May, 1916, the first bar of metal was cast at the Western Brass Mill founded by Franklin Olin in East Alton, Illinois. The Western Brass Mill was originally founded to service a need for cupping used by its mother company, Western Cartridge, during World War I.

In 1928, Olin Corporation became a commercial supplier of copper based strip products.

Since the very beginning of it all, Olin Corporation has stood for high quality product and customer service. Due to the high goals set by the founders of Olin Corporation, an ammunition company founded in 1892 has grown into a company of highly diversified products.
